Whenever I start something new, be it a diet, job, class, or other change, I always give myself a little room to figure out how my zero waste lifestyle fits in. Be a Hero: Give Blood and Help the Planet!
Every zero waster has some hobbies from their "before" days that they don't want to give up but need to convert over to a zero waste routine. For me, that was donating blood. I got my gallon pin this month and won't be stopping nay time soon! #OneJarChallenge - December 2016
2016 has come to an end and it's time to take a look inside my last month of trash...1.8 ounces of trash. December brought with it a lot of house cleaning so many items you see in this photo were either found in some back, dark corner of my house or purposefully used up because they had just been sitting around for too long. OneJarChallenge - September 2016
This September my goals were to bring my medical waste down and to reduce the “splurge” waste I produce when spontaneously buying treats that inevitably come with trash. In review, I could have done better with goal number one. Here’s how: To avoid medical waste I needed to be planning ahead. Anticipating what my body was going to need and heading it off before it called out longingly for a Band-Aid or plastic wrapped pill. The problem is, that needs a lot of foresight. Great
